    Exciting opportunity for the right person to join the Corporate Accounting team of one of the largest architectural engineering firms in the United States. Leo A Daly is seeking a Staff Accountant to work closely with managment and be an integral role of the accounting team. 


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.


    • Review general ledger accounts and prepare correcting journal entries.
    • Account analysis and reconciliation. Reconciliation may include bank statements & inter-company G/L accounts.
    • Help maintain general ledger Chart of Accounts.
    • Perform monthly project and branch office analysis
    • Develop and utilize job-costing standards.
    • Perform monthly journal entries and accruals
    • Maintenance of job-cost accounting system and job-cost ledger.
    • Perform life cycle, cost benefit analysis.
    • Ensure availability of cost information for analysis and budgeting.
    • Perform financial statement analysis to clarify significant operational variances.
    • Prepare monthly variance analysis of balance sheet accounts.
    • Develop adjusting entries as needed.
    • Participate in year-end close process with Corporate Accounting group.
    • Prepare required various tax related reports for the company. Franchise, use and personal property tax, etc.
    • Assist with audits including CPA financial statement audit, tax audits and audits by other government (client) agencies.
    • Utilize accrual accounting to record transactions.
    • Prepare special projects with closing conclusions and recommendations.
    • Understand accounting and general office software packages, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Participate in team to install upgrades of Deltek Vision software and notify others in accounting staff of potential changes.
    • Establish best practices in use of Deltek Vision software amongst accounting and finance personnel.
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements and interpretations.
    • Approve vouchered payments to vendors.
    • Assists Controller and Accounting staff with Ad Hoc duties which may include: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense report review.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
    • Minimum of 0 to 3 years of experience performing Staff level accounting duties is required
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential.
    • Experience working in a job-costing accounting environment is preferred
    • Experience performing accounting functions in a service industry is preferred
    • Experience in the architecture, planning, engineering, construction, or landscaping industry is a plus
