    The Higher Education Market Sector Leader position encompasses the dual role of both the seller and doer. You will be responsible for the leadership and growth of the Higher Education market by using extensive knowledge to direct strategic planning, develop client relationships, and win work. You will be able to selectively grow our team and oversee Higher Education projects.

    Responsibilities

    As the Higher Education Market Sector Leader, you will:


    • Cultivate business opportunities with a regional/local focus by developing and maintaining partnerships and managing client relations
    • Develop, strategize, create, and execute initiatives that position the firm and win related work
    • Coordinate with Business Development and Marketing Departments to contribute subject matter expertise in the development of qualifications, proposals, presentations, social media, and traditional collateral pieces
    • Direct and manage Higher Education projects
    • Understand project scope and articulate a pathway for project success
    • Understand the client’s goals and expectations
    • Direct multi-disciplinary design teams
    • Communicate with the client, our design team, construction contractors, agencies, and other project stakeholders to achieve project success
    • In concert with our Director of Operations assist in establishing and managing project budgets and staffing
    • Convey client and firm expectations to all project team members

     

    This position is based in Los Angeles and will leverage the education resources of the Los Angeles and Las Vegas offices of LEO A DALY, as well as other offices within the firm. Your supervisors will be our Managing Principal and Director of Operations in Los Angeles. You will also work directly with our Director of Business Development.

    Qualifications

     

     • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Architecture; Master’s Degree or other advanced education is preferred
    • Professional expertise demonstrated through 15+ years of experience in design and management of Higher Education projects required. 5+ years of progressive experience in leadership and/or business development
    • Proven track record executing medium to large-scale projects; STEM/sciences focus preferred
    • Ability to build extensive and reputable relations with clients and strategic partners; maintain existing relationships with public and private university clients throughout the state of California and Nevada
    • Licensed Architect registration is a plus
    • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with desire to grow the Education market and position Leo A Daly as one of the premier institutional design firms
    • Understanding of the Education market and corresponding client needs/expectations; ability to identify trends, suggest solutions, and help develop clients' ideas into buildable solutions
    • Demonstrated skills in business development and negotiation of critical issues; exceptional client management, customer service orientation, writing and verbal presentation skills
    • Working knowledge of fee proposals, negotiations, a variety of delivery and contracting processes, and contract/subcontract administration
    • Proven ability to drive results through successful planning, coordination, scheduling, and budgeting
    • Strong leadership, mentoring, collaboration, problem solving, and decision-making skills
    • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to a number of concurrent opportunities/projects in various stages
    • Active leader and member of varied professional and community organizations
