  • Overview

    Position Overview:

     

    This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of design documents for civil site development (site layout, storm water, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems) including calculations, reports, drawings, and technical specifications. This position will serve as a member of an integrated design team and will be responsible for coordinating the civil design with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets.

    Responsibilities

    • Work under the guidance of senior civil engineers to prepare design documents for a wide variety of projects.
    • Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments within the local office and/or other corporate locations; serve as a liaison between a senior engineer and the design team.
    • Prepare engineering calculations and specifications to support the civil plan design.
    • Review design documents and specifications for constructability and risk management.
    • Closely work with multiple teams of Architects and Engineers on assigned projects.
    • Attend meetings with project team and clients.
    • Assist with other duties assigned.
    • Opportunities for travel.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Competencies:

     

    • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced team environment to achieve project goals.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with team members, clients, and government authorities.
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of general civil engineering land development practices, including site planning, site grading, and utility design.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
    • Experience with stormwater management design and modeling software such as HydroCAD or XP-SWMM
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Project
    • Familiarity with Revit, Sketch-Up, InDesign and other design programs is a plus.

    Education and License Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
    • 4+ years of professional experience within the land development industry.
    • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering exam to become an Engineer in Training.
    • Passed Professional Engineering exam in any state to become a Professional Civil Engineer, or on track to do so within 2 years.
    • LEED, CPSWQ a plus.
