    We are seeking a confident, technically capable architect to orchestrate the development of architectural contract documents for complex DoD healthcare projects at various scales.

     

    Relocation assistance may be available for selected candidate.  Candidate should inform Leo A Daly if relocation assistance is required.

    Responsibilities

    Successful candidate will work as part of a multi-discipline team during all phases of projects located throughout the United States as well as some International projects. Candidate will provide master planning, design, and medical planning expertise necessary for the design of complex healthcare projects at various scales. Assignments will include planning, programming, participating in, and monitoring the design process, attending internal and user meetings, producing architectural graphics, and preparing design presentations to communicate ideas to clients. Candidate will perform Revit modeling and detailing and coordinate architectural work with other disciplines to develop contract documents. Additional assignments may include editing specifications, performing construction contract administration, and assisting with marketing/business development activities. Travel for project related activities relative to existing building assessments/investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations will be required. Candidate must complete assignments with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to time and budget constraints.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
    • Registered Architect preferred. Candidates who are not yet registered, but are in the process and motivated to attain licensure in a timely manner will be considered.  
    • Professional expertise demonstrated through 5+ years of progressive medical planning experience within the government healthcare, DoD, market sector preferred.
      • Demonstrated knowledge & experience with Department of Defense Space Planning Criteria and Space & Equipment Planning System (SEPS)
      • Demonstrated knowledge & experience with Defense Health Agency (DHA) templates and design standards
      • Demonstrated knowledge & experience with DHA World Class Medical Facilities Checklist and Evidence Based Design principles & procedures
    • Thorough understanding of the space planning/programming requirements, decision making processes, and contractual methods unique to government healthcare clients.
    • Proficiency with computer software including AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, and SketchUp required.
    • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to a number of concurrent projects in various stages.
    • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills required.
    • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team.
