    This is an excellent opportunity to join LEO A DALY’s Miami studio in a Mid-Level Interior Designer role.

    Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Mid-Level Interior Designer to join integrated project teams working on Healthcare and Corporate/Commercial projects. One of the key fundamentals to our success is our integrated project teams: interior designers, medical planners and architects working together in a highly collaborative environment taking projects from concept through construction. Our work requires a high-performance designer with strong communication skills, graphic skills, and ability to work on multiple platforms with a holistic approach to design.     Your New Role:

    • Participate in high-energy, collaborative team and project environments
    • Proactive team involvement and willingness to participate in ideation at all levels - be engaged!
    • Develop and implement overall design and space planning concepts with team.
    • Solve complex design problems through all design phases – concept, SD, DD, CD & CA
    • Design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities
    • Work with technical team to ensure design intent is accurately interpreted in documents
    • Document interior design including detailing of interior elements
    • Participate in furniture selection, furniture palettes, material presentations and specification generation
    • Create beautiful presentation graphics
    • Research, select and specify materials and finishes
    • Manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines
    • Work closely with senior level designers and project managers in the successful delivery of small, medium and large size stand-alone and integrated interiors and workplace projects.
    • Proactively engage with teams, and demonstrate a willingness to participate in the development of ideas at all levels.
    • Contribute to and evolve the overall standards of design quality, assisting in the development and implementation of exceptional design concepts, expressed through 3-D visuals and drawings, with highly evolved materiality and furniture programs through all phases of design.
    • Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities.
    • Produce and / or oversee the development and review of high quality, comprehensive contract documents.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with Interior MEP and related disciplines during all phases of a project.
    • Assist with marketing / business development pursuits, and collaborate with other studios, as needed.
    • Reports to Managing Principal

    Qualifications

     

    What you will need to Succeed:

    • Architecture, Interior Design or Interior Architecture degree from an accredited program, such as Bachelor's Degree of Architecture, Interior Design or Interior Architecture; BIARCH, BFA or MFA desired
    • 7+ years of professional experience in corporate / commercial and healthcare interiors
    • NCARB or NCIDQ certified, or on track for certification
    • 3 to 10 years of professional experience in Interior Design
    • Eagerness to ideate, iterate, innovate for the betterment of project, the studio, the firm and yourself
    • Experience with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) project review process
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of the FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities
    • On the path to licensure in the State of Florida desired
    • LEED, AAHID, EDAC accreditation or within 18 months of hire
    • Knowledge of all aspects of interior design including concept development, programming, space planning, detailing, color and material selection, FF&E selection and specification, and vendor and contractor management
    • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
    • Previous project experience including a wide range of scales and complexity in all phases of design
    • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills; effective client relationship skills and talent for working with diverse teams of designers
    • Proficiency in Revit; knowledge of 3-D modeling, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, Rhino, 3D Max desired
