    This is an excellent opportunity to join LEO A DALY’s Miami studio in a Design Computation Leader role.


    We are seeking a design leader who demonstrates exceptional skill in computational workflows to join a highly collaborative design-oriented team.  Ideal candidates will have a passion for design and a keen understanding of how parametric strategies can enhance project work. Embedded in a project team, potential candidates will be responsible for developing the project design, creating custom tools for their project, and identifying opportunities to improve the design and documentation process.


    Your New Role:

    • Participate in high-energy, collaborative team and project environments
    • Proactive team involvement and willingness to participate in ideation at all levels - be engaged!
    • Develop detailed design concepts and documentation on project teams
    • Create parametric models for design iteration and geometric rationalization
    • Communicate complex design ideas with clients and project teams
    • Work with the studio BIM lead and core team to set the studio technology strategy
    • Increase the digital capabilities of the studio through training and recruiting
    • Investigate and explore new tools and technologies
    • Take part in larger firm-wide initiatives and influence tool development
    • Publish studio innovations via the website, conferences, and presentations
    • Communicate to the studio what is happening around the firm and in the broader software world
    • Create graphics and visualize data to effectively communicate design ideas
    • Guide the project’s computational strategy from Concept to CA
    • Develop new tools for analyzing environmental and human performance
    • Create parametric models for design iteration and geometric rationalization
    • Build interactive tools for real time decision making in client meetings
    • Reports to Managing Principal



    What you will need to succeed:

    • Bachelor's degree; B Arch or M Arch desired
    • Highly proficient in Rhino and Grasshopper
    • Proficient in Revit and Dynamo
    • Textual coding experience (C#, Python, or JavaScript)
    • Experience in UI / UX Prototyping
    • Ability to communicate highly technical information in a simple easy to understand way
    • Drive to continue learning and improving
    • Extensive understanding of the architectural design and delivery process
    • Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and organizing training
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • LEED accreditation or within 18 months of hire
    • Ability synthesize data and conceptual ideas into a coherent design strategy
    • Ability to work with others and thrive in a collaborative, open environment
