    Due to the continued growth of Leo A Daly, we currently have an exciting opportunity at our office in downtown Minneapolis, MN for an Electrical Designer professional seeking a career in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Located within one of the major design cities and with over 80 professionals in a variety of disciplines, our Minneapolis office is a full-service design firm that will fully utilize your knowledge and understanding of electrical system design for commercial, industrial, institutional, military, and health care projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Discuss objectives, requirements, and budget of project with Project Electrical Engineer  
    • Review and comply with local, state, and national building codes pertaining to Life Safety, Building, and Electrical standards, applicable publications, codes and testing lab guidelines.
    • Manage the electrical design and planning of projects, oversee production of contract documents, review submittals, and solve field coordination issues
    • Supervise the work of technicians assigned to applicable projects to ensure quality assurance, discipline scheduling and budgeting
    • Report status of design process and cost analysis to appropriate Project Manager; maintain percent completes
    • Performs other duties as assigned or instructed

    Qualifications

     

    • Ability to persuasively and visually communicate ideas
    • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with project personnel
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Knowledge and proficiency of Auto CAD applications
    • Strong computer skills with use of Microsoft Office applications
    • Familiarity with Life Safety Codes, Local and National Electric Codes, and Building Codes on the Local, State and National level
    • Proficiency in engineering analysis and calculations: lighting, volt drop, branch circuit and feeder sizing
    • Understanding of design parameters unique to building types in the Manufacturing and Distribution, Service and Technology, and Government market sectors
    • Excellent time management, organization skills, and ability to multi-task
    • Associate degree from accredited Technical
    • 5-7years of experience in electrical design field
