  • Overview

    Leo A Daly, an award winning, International Architecture, Interior Design, Planning and Engineering firm is seeking a talented Intern Architect to work in its Minneapolis office. This is a growth position on our healthcare team with opportunities to work on a wide variety of project types.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide support to other in-office architects, interior designers, planners, graphic design and marketing professionals.
    • Collaborate as an active member of the project team and develop an understanding of the work of other disciplines within the office
    • Research building codes, project case studies and materials.
    • Participate in client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
    • Assist in the preparation of oral and written presentations on the design and production of projects, as well as proposals, reports and research/case studies
    • Prepare detailed scale drawings and 3D Revit models of architectural designs
    • Create preliminary drawings and modify them as directed by the responsible architect to produce final construction documents
    • Develop, prepare and review drawings that show details of the structures and specify dimensions and materials, particularly building enclosures

    Qualifications

    • Ability to be highly creative and bring abstract ideas into design
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team
    • Ability to persuasively and visually communicate ideas; strong self-confidence
    • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with team members
    • Ability to formulate sound and educated decisions based upon available information
    • Excellent time management and organization skills
    • Working knowledge of current construction materials and methods
    • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office applications, Revit and Auto CAD is mandatory
    • Knowledge of  SketchUp, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is preferred
    • If not registered, on track for architectural registration is desirable but not required.
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from accredited college or university in Architecture is a plus
    • Professional expertise demonstrated through 1 to 3 years of progressive experience working with various project types
    • Architectural Registration not required
    • Current affiliation and/or membership of local, state, or national industry organization(s) is a plus
    • LEED® Accredited Professional is a plus
