  • Overview

    This senior position will collaborate with our multi-disciplined teams of Architects and Engineers and be responsible for the organization, preparation and consultation of project specifications and quality assurance efforts for a broad range of project types and sizes.



    • Lead role in coordinating the preparation of project specifications for multi-disciplined team of Architects, Interior Designers and Engineers
    • Lead role in producing architectural technical specifications that are consistent with overall design intent and detailed drawings
    • Create and maintain office-wide Master Specifications in coordination with firmwide practices
    • Review drawings so as to maintain consistent language between drawings and specifications
    • Research products/materials as required to assist architect, engineers, and interior designers. Provide consultation to team on current and available products and materials
    • Attend internal meetings to ensure design specifications are coordinated with drawings
    • Prepare formal written amendment/addendum documentation as necessary to clarify drawings and specifications
    • Assist with evaluation and response to product substitution requests
    • Maintain technical resource library and listing of technical resource contacts
    • Provide technical expertise to project teams regarding building materials, detailing, code analysis, project documentation, construction administration, and other project-centric processes
    • Take part in quality assurance and quality control efforts as a part of the day to day design process
    • Performs other duties as assigned or instructed



    • Highly proficient in specification software such as CSI-Masterspec
    • SpecsIntact and e-Spec experience preferred
    • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to communicate effectively and openly to all team members
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team
    • Ability to formulate sound and educated decisions based upon available information; strong self-confidence
    • Excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and produce results within deadline
    • Thorough working knowledge of current construction materials and methods
    • Ability to interact positively with the staff of the architectural and engineering disciplines in a Collaborative Team Environment
    • Strong knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
    • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Architecture or related field
    • Professional expertise demonstrated through 10 years of progressive experience working with various project types
    • Construction Specifications Institute Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) preferred
    • Current affiliation and/or membership of local, state, or national industry organization(s) is a plus
    • LEED® Accredited Professional is a plus
