    The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, modifying and reviewing drawings and contract documents of structural systems or components during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. This position will work directly with a team of Structural Engineers and collaborate with Architects, Civil and MEP Engineers to ensure drawings are designed in accordance with established standards, and to generate solutions for any technical problems that arise.

    Responsibilities

    • Set up and manage Revit Structural models
    • Perform Revit modeling and detailing
    • Interpret architectural and HVAC plans for structural requirements; incorporate detailed layout work for applicable structural plans based upon assessments
    • Review and modify drawings for structural components
    • Maintain and develop structural drafting templates and workflow standards
    • Assist Structural Engineers with all aspects of Structural Engineering projects
    • Assist with other duties assigned by Structural Engineers, such as attending internal meetings and assisting to conduct site investigations.

    Qualifications

     

    • Ability to collaborate effectively in a respectful and professional manner with department personnel and office staff; must possess strong oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of building concepts and design codes
    • Current knowledge of industry design and drafting standards
    • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook and ancillary software such as Bluebeam.
    • Experienced in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software; knowledge of interaction between Revit and Structural design software packages and/or experience in programming or Dynamo is a plus
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to track multiple teams and projects concurrently
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Strong problem-solving skill and self-motivation
    • Energy and Enthusiasm – Consistently maintaining high level of activity and productivit
    • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team
    • Reliable – Always finishing the work on time and within budget
    • Self-motivated and eager to learn new things and adapt to changing markets, technologies and software updates.
    • Willing to mentor/provide guidance to less experienced staff
    • Results-oriented – Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishments while working to meet or exceed those goals.
    • Attention to detail – Meticulous and quality oriented to ensure quality work product
    • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Drafting or similar field from an accredited Technical College or University
    • 10 to 12 years of experience in related field within the A&E industry
