As a Client Relations Manager you will coordinate business development efforts within LEO A DALY’s Education and Public/Institutional market sectors.  Education market is defined as publicly and privately funded educational clients including higher education, K-12, and early childhood development.  Public/Institutional market is defined as city and state funded clients including City of Omaha, State of Nebraska, OPPD, and MUD.  Overall, the position is responsible for assisting the team in identifying opportunities, developing relationships, creating capture strategies, executing strategies, and closing work.

Responsibilities

Client Relations Managers are responsible for initiating and maintaining extensive contacts with key potential clientele, industry representatives, organizations, and companies identified within the markets’ strategic plans.  The candidate is responsible for driving results to exceed new business contracted goals by overseeing public relations activities and proactively collaborating with the Education and Public/Institutional Market Sector Leaders.  You must promote and establish collaboration and individual leadership within the team to identify, acquire, and retain new and current clientele relationships and strategic partners.  Candidate must continually develop, evaluate, and update the team’s strategies and effectiveness in capture planning and winning work and implement process improvements based on evidence, observations, trends, and client feedback.

 

Client Relations Managers must lead by example, assuming full and direct responsibility for all business development activities in the market.  You will report to the Managing Principal and will assist the Managing Principal, Director of Operations, Market Sector Leaders, Marketing Team, and Project Managers in identifying personnel needs for pursuit teams, evaluating scope and scheduling requirements of opportunities, and transitioning opportunities from pursuits to contracted work.  Candidate will establish, implement, and maintain the business development short- and long-range plans and budget for the Education and Public/Institutional markets.

  • Robust existing professional network within Omaha and State of Nebraska’s Education and Public/Institutional market, and a drive to grow their network.
  • Strong desire to be the public face of LEO A DALY Education and P/I markets.
  • Authentic connections to the community with foresight to connect the dots of people and projects.
  • Eidetic memory of faces, names, places, projects, and facts.
  • Strategic and creative thinker willing to explore and communicate ideas with effective follow through.  Appreciates the multiple steps of winning work and the inter-connected nature of various clients. 
  • Infectious optimism.
  • Understands the size/scale of various project opportunities, how projects are funded, and how decisions are made in viability of projects.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to remain current on issues relating to numerous concurrent opportunities in various stages, tracking, and communicating this information with teammates.
  • Avid researcher with a detective mindset and ability to ask and process intelligent questions
  • Exceptional self-motivation, customer service orientation, communication, writing, and presentation skills, comfortable in social settings, and a connector within the education & public/institutional markets.
  • Flexible scheduling and ability to meet with clients outside of conventional business hours.
  • Professional expertise demonstrated through 5+ years of proven ability to drive results meeting revenue and goals through successful lead generation/follow through, customer relations, pursuit strategy, strategy implementation, and client management in the A/E/C industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Deisgn, or Engineering or related field.
  • Active leader and member of varied professional and community organizations.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Deltek Vantagepoint CRM is a plus.
