Responsibilities

  • Confirms Scope of Work and contractual obligations with Project Manager
  • Understands the project(s) scope and plans and develops concepts and approaches appropriate to the construction budget and the disciplines in carrying out the project work.
  • Participates in code analysis, including NFPA, IBC, and SHPO, or similar regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinates project design and schedule with all internal and external consultants
  • Responsible for maintaining team progress and meeting project deliverables deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assures overall quality, completeness, and accuracy of Construction Documents
  • Attends meetings with Owner as required by Project Manager/prepare meeting minutes
  • Works with Specifications team, Project Manager and Owner to coordinate Specifications and Front-end Documents
  • Ability/Desire to take on increasing levels of leadership and accountability to projects and Clients.

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect preferred (or pursuing Registration)
  • Minimum of 2 years contributing to adaptive reuse or preservation projects
  • Experience with Nationally or Locally Registered Historic Projects
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials and assemblies, including existing construction and historic finishes
  • High level competency in the use of design and production software (i.e. REVIT, AutoCAD, etc.) and functional literacy in use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and often fast-paced environment and a strong team-oriented approach
  • Experience in the development of construction documents. Experience with documenting existing construction and historically relevant structures is preferred.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel locally as required, with potential for regional or national travel as project needs arise
  • Demonstrated capabilities with written narratives and reports in support of regulatory approvals for historic structures is a plus.
